When Life Repeats Itself: Understanding the Message Behind Karma

Why I Avoided Looking at Karma for So Long

For a long time, I avoided looking closely at karma. Not because I did not believe in it, but because I associated it with punishment. Somewhere inside me lived the fear that if I truly understood my karma, I might discover something I would have no control over and would simply have to accept.

At the same time, certain situations in my life kept repeating in a way that became difficult to ignore. I did not see this as karma at first. I simply felt stuck in experiences that seemed to return again and again, even though on the surface nothing looked the same.

It took time for me to admit that avoidance did not protect me. It only delayed understanding.

The Pattern That Kept Repeating in My Professional Life

In my professional life, a very similar pattern kept appearing. I repeatedly found myself under strong pressure from authority figures, and at times this pressure crossed into clear bullying. The workplaces and people were different, but the dynamic itself was always the same.

Instead of questioning their behavior or setting boundaries, I closed in, endured and focused on improving myself. I worked harder, stayed calmer, and tried to be better, believing that if I changed enough, the pressure would eventually stop.

The Question That Changed Everything

For a long time, I explained these experiences by looking only at the outside. I blamed unhealthy workplaces, poor leadership, or difficult personalities. Some of that was true, but it did not explain why the same experience kept repeating regardless of where I went.

The real shift began when I stopped asking why this was happening to me and asked a different question: what inside me was being met by these situations?

This question was uncomfortable, because it required me to look at my own inner position, not in terms of blame, but in terms of responsibility. It asked me to consider that something within me might be participating in the repetition, even if unconsciously.

What I Realized About My Role in the Pattern

What became clear was that I had been carrying a deep inner agreement to give up my personal power to authority. This was not something I had consciously chosen as an adult. It formed much earlier, at a time when obedience and compliance felt safer than standing my ground or expressing myself.

Over the years, this agreement had been operating automatically. I did not question authority. I assumed responsibility for fixing situations that were not mine to fix. I adapted instead of responding.

This kind of realization often comes after a period of deeper self-inquiry, like the questions I shared in this post on
soul level self-discovery:

As long as this inner position remained unseen, similar situations continued to appear in my life. Authority figures mirrored it back to me again and again.

What Actually Changed After I Understood the Pattern

When I understood this and consciously released it, the change was real, but it was not dramatic. The external situations did not disappear overnight.

What changed first was how I responded.

I stopped reacting automatically. When pressure appeared, I no longer collapsed inward or assumed that endurance was the only option. I began responding with more dignity, even when the situation itself was still difficult. I spoke differently, set clearer boundaries, and stopped assuming that everything was my fault. These were not big gestures, but they were consistent.

Over time, these small shifts reshaped my professional life. I regained my sense of power, not because other people suddenly changed, but because my internal position had changed.

As the constant tension eased, both my professional success and my health improved. The changes were gradual, but they were real and sustainable.

How the Same Mechanism Shows Up in Other Areas of Life

I see the same mechanism at work in my clients, even though the surface issues are often very different.

One client came to me because financial pressure followed her throughout her life. She worked hard, was responsible with money, and still struggled to maintain financial stability.

When we explored this more deeply, what emerged was a past-life vow of poverty. This vow once had meaning in a different context, but it was still unconsciously shaping her choices and limits.

As long as this vow remained unrecognized, it continued to shape her relationship with money. When she became aware of it and we released it, her financial situation did not change overnight. What changed first was her behavior. She stopped feeling the need to justify receiving, charging fairly for her work, or creating stability for herself.

Over time, her financial life became more stable, because the old pattern was no longer directing her choices.

Financial pressure is one of the most common areas where ancestral karma becomes visible, as I describe in more detail in this post about recognizing ancestral karmic patterns:

How to Recognize a Repeating Pattern in Your Own Life

If you suspect that something in your life keeps repeating, you do not need to label it as karma immediately. You can begin by observing it honestly.

Think of a situation that has appeared more than once in your life, even if the details were different.

Ask yourself:

  • What kind of situation keeps appearing?

  • How do I usually respond when it happens?

  • What do I tend to do with myself in these moments?

  • What belief, agreement, or strategy might this response be protecting?

Patterns usually reveal themselves through our reactions, not through dramatic events. Awareness develops gradually. When you are ready to see the message, it becomes clearer.

A Quiet Invitation

Karma is not a verdict about your future. It is information about something within you that wants to be understood.

When the message is understood, repetition no longer serves a purpose.

If you feel that a recurring pattern in your life may have deeper karmic or ancestral roots and you would like structured support in understanding and releasing it, you can explore my Karma Healing Program.

The program is designed to help identify and clear the root causes behind repeating life themes, at a pace that respects your readiness and free will.
